V. Interlude I

Last Sunday I saw the third episode of Professor Brian Cox's BBC2 series "Wonders of the Universe". It reminded me of an old comment from the composer Reynaldo Hahn, once a Director of Opéra de Paris, about a prémière of an opera he had to attend:

"I heard your opera last night. There wasn't a single cliché missing!"

And once again the "building blocks of the Universe" were mentioned... twice... thrice?... Arrrrrghhh!
